Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican and frequent critic of Trump, also panned the decision to tap Hegseth: “Wow. Trump picking Pete Hegseth is the most hilariously predictably stupid thing,” Kinzinger, the former Jan. 6 committee member and former lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard, wrote on X.
