Offered is the book "For Home and the Southland-A History of the 48th Georgia Infantry Regiment", written by John Zwemer and published in 1999 by Butternut & Blue of Baltimore. The book, 11th in the Army of Northern Virginia series, is a stated limited first edition, one of only 1,000 copies printed. It has been signed by the author, with a personal dedication, dated 9/19/99. There are over 20 black and white photos, illustrations and maps. The original dust jacket is included. This is a rare find; at the time of original listing I could find only one other copy for sale on eBay and only a couple elsewhere.
The book is approx. 9 1/4" x 6" and contains 225 pages. The book is in excellent, like-new condition. The red hard cover has no wear, the gold words on the front and spine still shiny. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The white endpapers are clean, with the author's signature and personal dedication on the first blank page. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding, clean and clear. I see no writing in the book other than that of the author. The dust jacket has no tears but does have one small slight wrinkle on the bottom front, two very faint light pink spots on the front and has yellowed slightly on the inside.
