Product DetailsNicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Company dating back to the 1960's and 1970's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company Chairman, President and Treasurer, was printed by the Security-Columbian Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).
The certificate's vignette features an allegorical male figure (Mercury) in front of a skyline, pipeline, train, truck, plane and ship.

Historical Context
The Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Company was formed on February 1, 1968, as an absorption of the New York Central Railroad by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company.
The trade name of "Penn Central" was adopted, and on May 8, the company was officially renamed to the Penn Central Company.
