Interesting fact
:  The LIFE LIKE viewer was designed by
Seton Rochwite
, the inventor of the Stereo Realist and produced by the DEEP-VUE company in Milwaukee.  The magazine LIFE forced DEEP-VUE to change the name of the viewer, which changed from Life-Like to Like-Life and then Deep-Vue.  This viewer i
s not made new any more.
This stereo slide viewer has a number of interesting features:
Compact
Focusing
with rack and pinion sturdy mechanism
Internal Illumination
with 2.5V light  bulb and two D size batteries
Turns on
when a slide is inserted in the viewer
Turns off
when the viewer is placed on a solid surface (look at the switch at the bottom).
Note
: It is important to lift the viewer off the table for the light to turn on!
