Bachmann 83356 N Scale DCC 2-10-2 Santa Fe Steam Locomotive Seaboard R/N 2485
This engine, purchased in 2011, has been out of it's box only to photograph it for this auction and to run it about 10' on my test track to be sure it runs. It does, quite happily, in both directions, with the decoder factory-set to "03". I believe this is the current version of this model, with tender-mounted decoder. The headlamp is constant-brightness and is good and bright. This pristine model is well-detailed and has pre-installed separate grab rails and stanchions on the boiler. As noted, performance is very smooth in both directions with both DC and DCC control, at low and high(er) speeds on my test track. It's NOT broken in so plan on doing that early on. Couplers are Bachmann operating knuckle couplers that are compatible with pretty much any body else's knuckle couplers. In the box are a pair of Rapido-style couplers if that's your preference. part of this auction - it's for display only. I've marked it only C-8 simply due to its age. Instructions and warranty paperwork are buried in the case. The box and all contents are in new condition beyond the usual light rubbing on the box from being stored, but I have NOT gone over the boxes with a magnifying glass to search for micro-scratches! This model has lived its entire life in a smoke-free environment, so pick it up and run it!
