Artisanal Guiro Percussion Instrument 5” from Puerto Rico

Guiro made from a gourd by Puerto Rico craftsman has notches on one side of the gourd. Auction does NOT include a pua scraper. This Guiro produces a fine quality sound original to Puerto Rico and it's typical Christmas music and parrandas.
Guiro measures approximately 5” long and measures 2” wide at widest point.
A guiro is a percussion musical  instrument made of a hollow gourd with parallel notches cut in one side, and played by rubbing a stick or scraper ("pua") along the notches to produce a ratchet-like sound.
