    DESCRIPTION
    : Booklet is dated March 1960, and titled “Scenic South”. Magazine gave a visual tour of the “charming” deep south of the United States.  From the start, it sets the tone with the historic President’s Mansion on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Following pages  showcase  the Denny Chimes Tower, the Governor’s Mansion (now the University Club), and views of Mobile, AL; Daniel Boone Statue (Cherokee Park), Louisville, KY; Twitty’s or Little Fort Road Marker, near Richmond, KY; a Standard Oil advertisement (full page); the Natchez Pilgrimage (D’Evereux) near Natchez, Mississippi; Beauvoir, on U.S. 90, near Biloxi, MS (Jefferson Davis’ home); Rear View of the Church of the Redeemer, and a library, both in Biloxi, MS; Fort Pickens Historical Site on Santa Rosa Island in Florida; Battle of Natural Bridge Monument near Tallahassee; the early Florida State Capitol Building; and the Presbyterian Church on North Adams Street and West Park Avenue in Tallahassee finishes the tour. The back of the booklet reads: “Compliments of Abernathy’s Standard Station, Ft. Harrison and Chestnut, Clearwater, Fla.”
